Overview
Head south of Agadir into the Souss-Massa National Park — where the river meets the Atlantic at Sidi R'bat and flamingos stalk the reed lagoons — then on to Tifnit, a weathered Atlantic fishing village with cave-dwellings cut into the sea cliffs.
The Souss-Massa National Park begins south of Agadir and protects one of Morocco's most important coastal wetlands: the Souss and Massa river mouths, their reed beds sheltering northern bald ibis (one of the world's rarest birds), greater flamingos, spoonbills and a huge variety of waders. Sidi R'bat, at the mouth of the Oued Massa, is the legendary spot where, by local tradition, the prophet Jonah is said to have been cast ashore — a dramatic headland above the surf-pounded estuary.
Further south, Tifnit is one of the least-visited fishing villages on the Moroccan Atlantic coast. Its handful of stone houses cluster around a small bay where brightly painted wooden fishing boats are hauled up on the beach. The cliffs near the village contain natural sea caves long used for shelter and storage by local fishermen. Lunch here means grilled sardines and sea bass so fresh the fishermen brought them in that morning. The drive back follows the coast before returning to Agadir by late afternoon.

Morning · Agadir → Souss-Massa Park → Sidi R'bat
Souss-Massa National ParkPick-up at 08:30. Drive south on the coastal road, turning off for Sidi R'bat. Enter the national park where the road passes reed lagoons — stop here for 30 minutes of birdwatching with the guide (binoculars provided). Continue to the Sidi R'bat headland above the Oued Massa estuary.

Late Morning · Sidi R'bat Estuary Walk
Sidi R'bat, Souss-MassaA 45-minute walk along the estuary bank and out to the headland overlooking the Atlantic. Your guide describes the Jonah legend and the ecology of the estuary. In spring and autumn, hundreds of migrating waders use the mud banks. The sea here is rough and unswimmable — it's a viewing landscape rather than a beach day.

Midday · Tifnit Village & Seafood Lunch
TifnitContinue south to Tifnit. Walk the small harbour area, inspect the cave openings in the sandstone cliff above the beach and watch the fishing boats. Lunch at the village's quayside café — grilled fresh sardines, fried sea bass, Moroccan salad and bread.

100% private. Just you and the people you book with — your own driver, vehicle and pace from start to finish. We never pool travellers.
Can I change the dates or itinerary?
Yes. Every itinerary is a starting point. Add a day, swap a riad, change the start city — we'll re-quote in 24 hours and lock the price in writing before any deposit.
How fit do I need to be?
Easy. Light walking on medina cobblestones, plus optional activities you can opt in or out of on the day.
When should I book?
Agadir is a year-round coast, but for peak weeks (Christmas, Easter and July–August) and anything involving Paradise Valley or the Anti-Atlas in spring, book 6–10 weeks ahead. Last-minute (under 14 days) is usually still possible with a phone call.
