Morning

Agadir pickup & the argan road

We collect you from your hotel and head north out of Agadir on the R109. Within about 30 minutes the road climbs into dense argan forest — Morocco's UNESCO-protected tree — where we stop at a Berber women's cooperative to watch the kernels being stone-ground and taste fresh argan oil.

Midday

Paradise Valley rock pools

Descend into the gorge and walk down through the palms to the natural rock pools. The largest is deep enough to swim, and your guide will point out the safe granite ledges if you fancy a jump. Allow time to swim, explore the gorge walls and wander upstream to a smaller cascade.

Early afternoon

Up to Imouzzer & lunch

The road switchbacks up to Imouzzer des Ida Outanane, a cool village above 1,000 m known for its honey and amlou. Lunch is taken on a café terrace overlooking the valley; if water levels are good, your guide will walk you up to the seasonal waterfall above the village.

Late afternoon

Descent & return to Agadir

Retrace the argan woodland road back down to the coast, with a viewpoint stop over the Souss plain. You are usually back at your Agadir hotel by mid- to late afternoon, leaving the evening free.

Who this day trip suits

Resort guests who want a swim with a view

Staying on the Agadir corniche or in Taghazout and after a half-day-style escape to cool natural pools without a long drive — we collect you from your lobby and bring you back the same afternoon.

Couples, friends and active families

A private vehicle and your own pace mean you can linger in the gorge, picnic by the pools or skip the cliff jumps entirely. The walk down to the water is short but uneven, so it suits anyone reasonably mobile.

Argan, honey and Berber-country lovers

The drive passes through one of the world's last wild argan groves, a women's cooperative and Imouzzer's honey stalls — the journey is as much a part of the day as the pools themselves.

First-time visitors to the Atlas foothills

A private driver-guide who knows the gorge track, the water levels and the safe ledges makes this an easy, low-stress first taste of the mountains behind Agadir.

Planning your day, practically

Timing

A morning pickup gives you the cool of the gorge before the midday sun, time to swim and lunch in Imouzzer, with a relaxed descent that has you back in Agadir by mid- to late afternoon.

Distance & drive

Paradise Valley is roughly an hour northeast of Agadir (about 60 km) on the winding R109 through argan forest. The final stretch into the gorge is a rough track, and Imouzzer sits higher again at over 1,000 m.

Season & water

Pools are fullest in spring and early summer after the winter rains; they can run low by late summer. The seasonal waterfall above Imouzzer flows best from about November to March. We check current levels before you commit to the descent.

Group size

Typically 2–6 travellers per private vehicle. Larger families and groups are easy to arrange with a bigger 4x4 or minivan — just tell us your numbers.

Paradise Valley day trip from Agadir: frequently asked

How far is Paradise Valley from Agadir and how long is the trip?

Paradise Valley sits in the High Atlas foothills roughly an hour's drive (about 60 km) northeast of Agadir on the winding R109. Our tour runs as a full day, leaving in the morning and getting you back to your hotel by mid- to late afternoon, so you have time to swim the rock pools and continue up to Imouzzer village for lunch.

How much does the Paradise Valley day trip from Agadir cost?

The private Paradise Valley & Imouzzer Gorge day trip starts from $75 per person, depending on group size and season. The price includes hotel pickup, a private air-conditioned vehicle, a private driver-guide, the argan cooperative stop and time at the rock pools and Imouzzer village. Lunch and drinks at the café are paid locally. Send your dates and party size for a written, itemised quote within 24 hours.

Can you actually swim in the Paradise Valley rock pools?

Yes — in the right season. The pools are fed by the river through the gorge, so they are deepest and clearest in spring and early summer after the winter rains. By late summer some pools can run low. Your guide checks current levels before you commit to the descent and will point out the deeper pools and the safe granite ledges for jumping.

Is this a private tour or a shared group trip?

It is 100% private. The vehicle, the driver-guide and the pace are yours alone — just you and the people you book with. We never pool travellers, so you can take your time at the pools, leave early to beat the crowds or add extra time in Imouzzer as you prefer.

When is the best time of year to do the trip?

Spring (roughly March–June) is the sweet spot, with full pools, green argan country and comfortable temperatures. Autumn is also good. The seasonal waterfall above Imouzzer runs best from about November to March, while high summer can be hot and the pools lower — still scenic, but check water levels with us first.

Can I combine Paradise Valley with the Imouzzer waterfalls or a surf stop?

Yes. The road up to Imouzzer passes Paradise Valley, so the rock pools and the Cascades d'Imouzzer pair naturally into one full-day loop — see our Imouzzer Waterfalls & Argan Forest tour for the waterfall-focused version. Because the trip runs through Aourir and Tamraght, it is also easy to add a short Banana Village or Taghazout coast stop. Tell us what you want and we will shape the day around it.
