Good to know

Practical notes

  • Paradise Valley is about 1 hour northeast of Agadir; water levels are highest in spring and after rain, lower in late summer.
  • Souss-Massa National Park is roughly 1 hour south — bring binoculars, as it is one of the best birding sites in Morocco.
  • The northern bald ibis is critically endangered worldwide; the Souss-Massa colony is internationally important, so keep your distance.

Frequently asked

Is Paradise Valley worth visiting from Agadir?

Yes — it is one of the most popular day trips from Agadir, a palm-filled gorge with natural rock pools about an hour inland. Go in spring or after rain for the fullest pools.

What wildlife can you see in Souss-Massa National Park?

The park's lagoons and estuary attract flamingos, spoonbills, herons and migratory waders, and it is one of the last refuges of the critically endangered northern bald ibis.
